WHAT ARE SCRATCH & DENTS – Scratch and dent sinks (S & D’s) are sinks that are a result of any one of the following:

1. Sinks determined by manufacturer quality control to not be of first quality for some defect that is either obvious or not obvious to their own tightly controlled standards.

2. Shipped to a customer and damaged in shipment and refused by customer based on their own refusal or determination it is not first quality.

3. Dented or scratched during installation by fabricator/installer or someone else.

4. Regardless, these are sinks that are returned to manufacturer and can’t be sold as first quality as per their pricing etc. These sinks would have to be scrapped at cents on the dollar as they cannot be sold as new. EKBO purchases these sinks at a greatly reduced price and in turn provides the consumer with a greatly reduced price saving hundreds of dollars or more.

5. Many times the defect is either unnoticeable or is in a location where it is under the solid surface top or not in an obvious viewing spot. At the same time, many sinks do have noticeable damage which we note on each one listed on our E Bay sight and provide pictures to best show the “issue” with the sink.

6. EKBO also will do some repair work to the sink to knock out a dent, rub in a scratch or abrasion so as to have minimum damage.

7. We have been doing this for 15 years and are very honest, fair and upfront with our customers who have purchased in our showrooms. We let you be the judge. Online is not as easy as in person, but we will try to do whatever we can to help you make the decision on the S & D you are interested in.
